Backstage Beauty: Gucci Spring 2014
Winter’s coming - time to start planning the warm escape. Along with it, style your hair and makeup accordingly for the tropical weather with a fresh-out-of-the-pool do, and some bronzy eyes.
Being that I’m a huge fan of copper lids, my go-to eyeshadow has been Laura Mercier’s Creme Eye Color in “Burnished Copper”. Need not have to apply much, because this shade is très pigmented, and blends very well. To recreate the look above, (after you’ve applied foundation and such), squeeze out a pinch, and apply with you finger for a nice even blend all over the eye including the upper portion of your under eye area. Use a crease or fluffy brush, to blend the outer bits and corners. Add clear gloss or basic lip balm, for a barely-there lip to compliment those eyes.
Now, on to the hair portion. Layering products is key for this slicked-back coif, and if you’ve got fine hair that never cooperates with you, like myself, you’ll need all of them. Start with a ton of mousse on your dry hair, then add a root lifter to - you guessed it- your roots. Comb it all back with either your fingers or an actual brush, and blast a blowdryer for a few seconds to fully set it. Use a large curling iron along your ends to create soft waves (it’ll make your hairdo look more done-up), and then add some hair oil to tame those flyaways. Finish off with a gloss spray which gives that gorgeous shine seen on the catwalk.
